Google Tensor SoC performs better than Snapdragon 888 in Benchmark Tests

According to new research, the Google-designed Tensor SoC that powers the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro outperforms the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, Samsung Exynos 2100, and HiSilicon Kirin 9000 chipsets in GPU benchmarks. The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro were released last week.

On Reddit, a user shared a set of benchmarks that he had completed on the 3DMark Wild Life, Wild Life Extreme, and Wild Life Stress video games. Google Pixel 6’s Tensor processor appears to outperform the other premium Android chipsets in each of the three tests, with a respectable lead over the competition. Keep in mind that these findings do not reflect actual performance in the real world.

According to Reddit user Greg (u/grt3), he acquired the Google Pixel 6 ahead of schedule and asked followers on the social media site whether they wanted to know anything further about the device. A user had inquired about the GPU performance of the Google Tensor SoC, and so Greg put the smartphone through its paces by running it through the 3DMark Wild Life, Wild Life Extreme, and Wild Life Stress tests.

During the Wild Life test, Google’s Tensor SoC is stated to have scored 6,666 points when producing 39 frames per second, and 2,028 points while giving 12.8 frames per second during the Wild Life Extreme test. While the Wild Life Stress test, which may run up to 20 minutes, had the highest loop score of 2,129 and the lowest loop score of 1,193 at 56 per cent stability, it had the greatest loop score and the lowest loop score at the same time.

A photograph of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, showing the Wild Life Extreme scores, was supplied by the tipster Golden Reviewer (@Golden Reviewer) on social media. The Galaxy smartphone, equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, received a total score of 1,494 points while running at an average frame rate of 8.90 frames per second. The Exynos 2100 chipset version, on the other hand, scored 1,793 points at a frame rate of 10.70 frames per second. The Huawei smartphone equipped with the Kirin 9000 SoC scored 2,004 points while running at a frame rate of twelve frames per second.

As a consequence of these findings, the Google Tensor SoC may be the best Android smartphone SoC on the market in terms of graphics performance. However, this information should be treated with caution because not many reviewers have tested the recently announced Pixel 6 series or the Tensor SoC.
