WhatsApp will now explore pushing out the multi-device feature to users

    WhatsApp multi-device

Just a few months ago, WhatsApp made the formal announcement of the multi-device feature. The beta testers had been given early access to the multi-device capability by the Facebook-owned messaging service, which was previously unavailable.

Following the recent advancements, WhatsApp is now making the functionality available to anyone who is not part of the beta testing programme. Some WhatsApp users have reported seeing pop-ups informing them of the availability of multi-device features. After being implemented, the multi-device functionality will allow users to use the messaging app on their phones in addition to four more devices.

According to Wabetainfo, WhatsApp will now explore pushing out the multi-device capability to users who are not currently enrolled in the test programme.

According to WhatsApp, in the last few days, the option to participate in the beta programme for multi-device has been made available to those who use stable versions of WhatsApp for Android and iOS.

Several people did not participate in the multi-device beta programme for a variety of reasons, including the fact that they are aware it is a beta programme and that they may have problems. According to the source, WhatsApp is now working on compelling users to upgrade to the multi-device version in preparation for a future release.

WhatsApp originally announced a multi-device feature in July, and it has been in place ever since. Users will be able to sync devices like a laptop, computer, or tablet, but not another phone, thanks to the functionality. For the time being, the capability is restricted to a single phone per account. There have been reports that WhatsApp is also looking at the potential of introducing functionality for the iPad.

WhatsApp stated that the architecture makes it simple to offer a perfectly synced experience between a phone and a companion device without sacrificing security when launching the feature. With the introduction of new technology, WhatsApp can retain end-to-end encryption while still keeping the user’s data in-sync across several devices.

WhatsApp will allow users to connect to a single account from both the web and their phone at the same time. One smartphone will serve as the primary device; all other devices will be either desktop computers or tablets, as appropriate. Even when their phone isn’t active or connected to the internet, WhatsApp users will be able to use the app through its desktop or browser versions. The need to rely on your phone to use the messaging app on your computer will be eliminated.

The company has also stated that any device that is linked to a WhatsApp account will have its own encryption key set up. Even if the encryption keys of one device are hacked, the firm asserts that the leaked encryption keys will not be used by a hacker to decode communications sent to other devices, even if the devices are all registered to the same user.
