Earlier this week, Samsung said that it has begun rolling out One UI 4 to customers who own Galaxy S21 series smartphones, which include the Samsung Galaxy S21+, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and the Galaxy S21. User customization choices and privacy features are said to have been improved as a result of the upgrade, which the company describes as an “elevated mobile experience.” The upgrade is based on Android 12 and will be given out to more smartphone models over the course of the next several months. Also released was an upgrade for the Galaxy Watch line of smartwatches from the South Korean corporation SK Telecom.

Galaxy S21 55,849, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra (105,999) smartphones are now compatible with the One UI 4 upgrade, according to the company’s announcement on the subject. Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S10 71,400 models, Galaxy Note series (Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 10 models, Galaxy Z series, Galaxy A series, and Galaxy Tab S7 series tablets are among the devices that will soon have the feature accessible, according to Samsung. Janghyun Yoon, Executive Vice President and Head of Software Platform Team at Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Communications Business, stated, “We are committed to providing everyone with access to the finest mobile experiences imaginable, as soon as feasible.”

As far as the Galaxy Watch series is concerned, the update will be made accessible to Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active (beginning at $23,999), Galaxy Watch Active 2 (starting at $24,999), and Galaxy Watch 3.

Samsung One UI 4 has the following features:

The One UI 4 upgrade, which is based on Android 12 and includes new themes, colour palettes, and privacy options, was launched in September as a public beta version.

A new set of Color Palettes is included in the stable version going out today, allowing users to customise the appearance and feel of the home screen icons, menu, buttons, and background. Users may choose from a variety of colour schemes to suit their preferences. It gains additional widgets, as well as a greater choice of emoji features, GIFs, and stickers on the keyboard, among other improvements.

One UI 4 privacy features include notifications when an app attempts to use the camera or microphone, a new privacy dashboard for settings, and options for simple monitoring. The upgrade also adds seamless support for third-party apps and services, which was previously unavailable.

Meanwhile, a notification emphasising the distribution plan for One UI 4 on Samsung devices was purportedly uploaded and then withdrawn from the company’s website. In a tweet, tipster Tron (@FrontTron) shared a picture that appears to be a translation of the now-deleted official notification in Samsung Members, according to the source.

According to the announcement, the update will be available in December for a select number of phones from the Galaxy Z series, Galaxy S20 series, and Galaxy Note 20 series. The upgrade is expected to arrive in January for the Samsung Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note 10 series, and previous foldable, with tablets following in February.
