According to reports, WhatsApp has begun development on the multi-device 2.0 version compatibility. Users will soon be able to add the iPad as a new connected device to their WhatsApp accounts.

The beta testers for the Facebook-owned messaging app had been granted early access to the multi-device compatibility functionality as part of a beta testing program. The beta testers will be able to put the feature through its paces and offer important input on it. WhatsApp will explore a steady rollout in response to the comments it receives.

Along with the announcement that WhatsApp online, portal, desktop, and the phone will soon be supported by the iPad, WhatsApp also said that it would soon add support for the iPad to its list of features.

According to the business, a multi-device connection can only have a single primary device and up to four additional secondary devices. It appears as WhatsApp has finally enabled iPad functionality for the beta testers who have been waiting for it.

Apparently, according to Wabetainfo, WhatsApp is finally working on multi-device 2.0, which will allow you to add the iPad as a new connected device.

Not only is the iPad being added, but WhatsApp is also aiming to include Android Tablets in the multi-device feature on WhatsApp for Android. The feature is present in the development stage, and it will be made accessible in a future version of the application.

The announcement of the multi-device functionality sparked debate among users, who wondered if the tool will eventually replace WhatsApp Web. In response, the firm stated that WhatsApp online is a vital platform for consumers, and as such, it will not be discontinued.

In the eyes of our users, WhatsApp Web continues to be a vital platform. Before now, WhatsApp could only be accessed by one user on a single device at a time. According to the spokesman, desktop and web support only worked by mirroring off your phone – which meant your phone had to be turned on and connected to the internet at all times.

WhatsApp has been working on a multi-device functionality since the beginning of this year. The feature has since made many appearances during normal beta tests, but it is not yet available for a stable release as of the time of this writing. The functionality, as the name implies, would allow users to log in from up to four separate devices with a single login credential.

Having said that, the two gadgets may be identical. Users may scan the QR code from the primary device, which is your phone, and link it to the secondary devices, which can include the web, desktop, portal, and other similar applications and services.

Even though WhatsApp has not officially announced it, the business will introduce support for the iPad soon. Most importantly, you will not need to have an active internet connection on your primary device to utilize the messaging app on your secondary device. This is a really convenient feature.
