The characters which we play in Valorant are known as Agents. And Agents are divided into several parts:
- Duelist
- Controller
- Initiator
- Sentinel
Earlier this week, we published an article about Duelists’ and Controller background, their skills, and strategy or tactics in detail. And in this article, we are providing information about the Initiator Category of Valorant.
According to Riot Games Official Wiki, “Initiators challenge angles by setting up their team to enter contested ground and push defenders away.”

What does the statement mean?
The above statement means that the agents who fall under the Initiator category play an important role in strategic planning. Initiators help their team to initiate with opponents and push them back.
Who can Play Initiator?
Players who like to play in the third and fourth positions must try Initiator Agents. Controller mainly consists of revealing the opponent’s position and flashing them to get rid of close-combat quickly.
How many Initiators are there in Valorant?
There is a total of Three Initiators in Valorant. Each character/Agent has different Abilities/Skills. The Controllers agents are listed below:
1) Breach
The Breach is one of the old characters/agents in Valorant since the BETA Version. According to his Biography, he’s from Sweden.
Breach fires a powerful, targeted motion blast, aggressively removing its path through enemy lands. He has two necessary Abilities, first Ability is known as Aftershock, wherein he equips a fusion charge and can set a slow-acting burst through the walls or any objects. The outbreak does heavy damage to anyone who gets caught in its area.
The Second Ability is Flashpoint. As the name suggests, it’s a flash blinding enemies’ vision. He equips a blinding charge, and the charge is set fast-acting burst through any objects or wall. The charge blinds the vision of enemies.
The Third Ability is the Signature ability of Breach. He equips a seismic blast, which increases the distance and can release to set off the quake, dazing all players (basically stunning) in its area and a line up to the zone.
The Fourth ability is his Ultimate, wherein he equips a seismic charge, after which he can send a cascading quake through all terrain in a large cone. Enemies get stunned in that zone, and he can knock anyone easily.
2) Skye
Skye was added to the game on November 2, 2020. According to her Biography, she’s from Australia with a perfect accent that has impressed many players so far.
The agent’s first ability is known as Regrowth, wherein she can heal her teammates within a specific range up to 100HP. But she cannot heal herself as Sage does.
The agent’s second ability is known as Trailblazer, wherein she equips a Tasmanian tiger trinket and send out him and take control of the predator. It also creates damage to enemies by hitting them and is also used to reveal the enemies’ position.
The agent’s Third ability is known as Guiding Light, wherein she equips a hawk or bird, guides her to a particular direction, and blasts it. The blasting creates a huge flash and blinds enemies’ vision for 4 seconds.
The Last ability is the Ultimate of the agent known as Seekers, wherein she equips a seeker trinket and sends out three seekers to track down the three closest enemies, and when it reaches a target, it near sights them easily.
3) Sova
Sova is one of the old characters/agents in Valorant since the BETA Version. According to his Biography, he’s from Russia and has a code name as ‘Hunter.’
Sova has two primary abilities. The First ability is known as Shock Bolt, wherein he equips a bow with a shock bolt and can send it in a particular direction and damage the enemies.
The Second ability is known as Owl Drone, wherein he equips an owl drone and can reveal any area with a drone’s help. But sadly, enemies can destroy his drone quickly.
The Third ability is the Signature ability of Sova, known as the Recon Bolt. He equips a recon bolt, sends it in any direction through the wall, and reveals the enemies’ position. Enemies can destroy this bolt too.
The Fourth ability is the Ultimate, known as Hunter’s Fury. With this, he can equip a bow with three long-range, wall-piercing energy blasts. He can easily damage any enemy through it.
