In November 2020, PUBG India Pvt. Ltd has been reportedly registered as a company in India on the MCA India website. The registered address is in Bangalore and is listed as a subsidiary of a foreign country. It was confirmed to get launched, but the Government of India was not having an exact point of view regarding it. Even Many Indian PUBGM Streamers and Gamers reported that the Game will launch soon in India. Unfortunately, it’s high time, the Indian Gaming Community started losing interest in the topic.

Many Controversies and many doubts over the launch of PUBG Mobile India within the Indian market, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) has made it official that the Centre has not granted permission to re-launch PUBG Mobile in India.

It is to be noted that MEITY banned PUBG and hundreds of other Chinese apps in September. Responding to an RTI Query, MEITY declared that ‘”MEITY has not given any permission for launch of PUBG”. The RTI query was filed on November 30, reported Insidesport.

The eSports entity GEM Esports has shared the reply of RTI on their Instagram handle.

“Dear Sir/ Mam, In the month of September 2020, the Government of India with the consultation of your Department (MEITY) banned various Chinese apps. One of which was the Pubg Mobile Game. Now, there is much news that says that the game is being relaunched and the same is made specifically for the Indian Public and will not be harmful to the nation and its citizens. I would like to know if your department has given any such permission to the game so that it can be re-launched,” the query filed through RTI asked

MEITY has responded, stating: “MEITY has not given any permission for launch of PUBG.”

To Recall, Earlier, Insidesport had reported that PUBG Corporation executives are chasing the Meity officials for quite a month for a gathering, but they’ve yet to urge a meeting from the govt side. The delay in getting permission means PUBG Mobile India won’t be released within the Indian market soon.
