Re-timer Will Help You Set Your Body Clock

Technology has deeply involved itself with humans and we have witnessed its good and bad repercussions. Even then we have now attained such a pace in technological advancement which cannot be accounted for. So in order to neutralize the bad effects we must provide a new direction to our research patterns and invention so they may help us in a much more secure way. Many inventions have definitely come up starting from crude form of pacemakers to many new hi- tech devices assisting in artificial pumping of blood etc. One such gadget is the Re-timer.

Your body needs daily bright light to regulate your sleep pattern and provide energy. Working irregular hours, traveling to different time zones and living through winter months can interfere with your sleep pattern and productivity. Studies have shown that bright light at the right frequency can minimize the effects of jet lag, shift work and winter blues. Re-timing your body clock can help you sleep and wake when you choose to. Sunlight is the cue our bodies use to regulate our sleeping and waking pattern. When light is received by photoreceptors in our eyes, a signal is sent to our brain telling us to be awake and alert. Often, however, we do not receive the daily bright light we need to maintain a well-timed body clock and natural energy levels. The glasses have a lightweight design, rechargeable battery, and a USB cable for charging. The light source is soft, so you can still read and work while you wear them, and they can easily fit over your regular reading glasses. The Re-timer also comes with a carrying case and a frequent flyer calculator that calculates when to use the device for optimal results to counter jet lag. The Re-Timer mimics the benefits of sunlight by using light to stimulate the part of the brain responsible for regulating our 24-hour body clock. The result of 25 years of sleep research at Flinders University, the device is worn like a pair of sunglasses that emit light rather than blocking it.

Body clocks or circadian rhythms influence the timing of all our sleeping and waking patterns, alertness, performance levels and metabolism. These rhythms vary regularly over a 24-hour cycle. However, this process is often impaired by staying indoors, traveling to other times zones, working irregular hours, or a lack of sunlight during winter months. The  green light is one of the most effective wavelengths for advancing or delaying the body clock and that the Re-Timer is currently the only wearable device available that emits light of this wavelength.  The device’s light therapy is a safer and, in many cases, more effective treatment for altering sleeping patterns than drug alternatives. For those looking to advance their body clock forward, wearing the Re-Timer for 50 minutes each day for a period of three days after waking in the morning. To delay the body clock and wake up later, the same period of use should be used, but just before going to bed.
