Android 12 has bugs and several issues, says Google Pixel Users

Some Google Pixel phone customers are reporting app failures and touch responsiveness difficulties as a result of the latest version of Android.

The Android upgrade that Google published earlier this week amid much anticipation was intended to improve the user experience by incorporating Google’s new Material You design language as well as a number of underlying enhancements and bug fixes.

However, several customers have complained online that shortly after updating their Pixel phones to Android 12, they began experiencing latency and other irritating issues, such as an unresponsive touchscreen, which they attribute to the update. The problems are not restricted to a single model, but rather affect the majority of the most current Pixel smartphones.

Some of the impacted customers have reported their issues on the Google Support forums, which is a good place to start. The installation of Android 12 has caused a considerable number of consumers to report that their Pixel phones have become unresponsive to touch beyond that point.

Others have reported that their apps have crashed after upgrading to the most recent version of the Android operating system. After installing the Android 12 update, a small number of customers have reported experiencing battery depletion difficulties, in addition to other issues, on their Pixel smartphones.

In addition to posting comments on the Google Support forums, some customers have gone to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with the troubles they are experiencing after updating their Pixel phones to Android 12 (Oreo).

There does not appear to be a specific Pixel model that is experiencing problems; nevertheless, the majority of the reports accessible on the Internet indicate that the problems are affecting current Pixel phones, including the Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 5.

In the meanwhile, Google has not officially confirmed any problems with Android 12. However, product experts on the Google Support forums have advised some afflicted customers to boot their devices into safe mode in order to ascertain whether the problems are caused by any third-party applications. It doesn’t appear to have had a significant impact on consumers’ experiences.

Some news organisations have contacted out to Google for comments on the topic, and we will update this section as soon as the firm answers.

Android 12 was released earlier this week in conjunction with the introduction of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones, following months of beta testing. The Material You design language, which is used by the new operating system, makes interface modifications at the interface level. There are also new privacy-focused features, such as the option to share an approximate position and a new Privacy Dashboard that provides a detailed overview of app permission settings.

It is accessible for all Google Pixel phones, starting with the Pixel 3, which have received the Android 12 upgrade. It is also pre-installed on the Pixel 6 line of smartphones.
