According to Riot Games Official Wiki, “Sentinels are defensive experts who can lock down areas and watch flanks, both the attacker and defender rounds.”

What does the statement mean?
The above statement means that the agents who fall under the Sentinel category play an important role in grabbing the opponent’s information and holding the site in defense. Sentinels are basically assisting players to their whole team, and the team is totally dependent on them. Also, Sentinels’ work is to watch flanks from opponents and inform their team about positions of opponents.
Who can Play Sentinels?
Players who like to play at Back or Passive than others at the fourth and fifth position must try Sentinels agents. Sentinels are defensive experts that stop enemies from entering their site for e.g., Cypher – KillJoy’s traps and Sage’s wall.
How many Sentinels are there in Valorant?
There is a total of three Sentinels in Valorant. Each character/Agent has different Abilities/Skills. The Sentinel agents are listed below:
1) Cypher
The Cypher is one of the old characters/agents in Valorant since the BETA Version. According to his Biography, he’s from Morocco with the codename Gumshoe or Aamir.
Cypher has two basic abilities. The First Ability is known as Trapwire wherein he equips a Trapwire and places a destructible and covert tripwire at any targeted location that is supported through objects or walls. Whenever enemies get into Trapwire end up revealing their position.
The second ability is Cypher’s Cage which lasts for 7 seconds. He can create a temporary zone that blocks vision from any distance.
The Third ability is known as Spycam, wherein he equips a spycam and place it at any targeted location and he can spectate through that camera and hold any site or grab the information of enemies location easily.
The Fourth ability is the Ultimate, wherein Cypher throw he’s Hat on any fresh enemy corpse and further, all enemy players’ location gets revealed.
2) KillJoy
KillJoy was added to the game on August 4, 2020. According to her Biography, she’s from Germany.
The First ability is known as Alarmbot, wherein she equips it and deploys it at any location. Enemies coming close to the alarm bot end up getting the bot triggered and it explodes, applying vulnerability to enemies. The Alarmbot gets deactivated if Killjoy is more than 40m away from them.
The Second ability is known as Nanoswarm, which is a grenade type of ability that damages enemies for 4.5 seconds if any comes under it.
The Third ability is known as Turret which is a Signature ability of the agent. She equips a Turret and can deploy a turret that fires at enemies in a 180-degree cone that deals 11 damage per burst fire. As Alarmbot gets deactivated if KillJoy is more than 40m away from them similarly Turret gets deactivated the same.
The Fourth ability is known as Lockdown wherein she equips a lockdown device and deploys it at any location which creates a radius and detains enemies who get caught in the radius for 8 seconds.
3) Sage
The Sage is one of the old characters/agents in Valorant since the BETA Version. Sage was the most popular Valorant Agent during the BETA Verison and still, it is! According to her Biography, she’s from China with the codename Thorne.
Sage’s First ability is known as Barrier Orb which is a solid wall that lasts for 30 seconds.
The Second ability is known as Slow Orb, wherein she can throw that orb to the ground which gets expand creating a zone that slows down players who walk on it.
The Third ability is the signature ability of the agent known as Healing Orb. As the name suggests, it’s healing basically sage can heal herself or her enemies about 60-70HP and has a cooldown of 45 seconds.
The Fourth ability is Ultimate of Sage, which makes her a very unique agent in Valorant known as Resurrection or revive basically. She equips the ability and with our crosshair placed over any teammate’s corpse she can revive him/her. The teammate whosoever gets revived will be brought back to life with max health.
