5 Benefits of being an Introvert Computer Programmer

Being an introvert is often seen as a person who is poor at social skills, not knowing about the world. Most of the people think of them as bookworms and geeks who hide their hesitation by wearing a mask of another kind of person. Well if you think that being an introvert is not acceptable in today’s world then think again.

Denis Ritchie, the founder of C & Unix, Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft and Mark Zuckerberg, owner of world’s biggest online community, all three were highly introverts. If you look at the world’s successful programmers you will find that most of them were introverts.

I’m not saying that all of the successful programmers are introvert and you have to be an introvert to become a successful programmer. But, it’s a fact that programming and software engineering attracts introverted, deep thinking types of people. When you look at the history of great programmers, you’ll see how socially awkward they were. Why is it so? Let’s find out.

Perks of being an Introvert Programmer

1. Freedom:

The best thing about being an introvert is freedom. Freedom is the first step to the path of success. Introverts work solemnly and do not need to rely on others to get their work done. Freedom also means that no one will interrupt while working or doing any of the activities you love to do. In Programming, things only work for you when there are no interruptions.

2. Thinking Ability:

Introverts are the best thinkers as most of the people nowadays cannot even think logically and just wants to give a reply to others. They actually think about everything deeply and understand things better than an extrovert. Introverts have a universe of their own that exists inside their head.

According to the research conducted by some reputed institutions found out that persons who are introverts have thinking ability almost 10 times better than compared to persons who are extroverts. So if you are an introvert than be proud because you can actually think, unlike the other people who are living dead and can’t understand things.

3. Great Listeners:

Introverts are great listeners. If you are talking to an introvert than you do not have to worry about what you are saying because introverts actually pay attention to what you are saying. They make sure that every word that you speak will travel through their mind not just through their ears. Most of the people don’t listen they just wait for the sentence to end so that they can reply. An introvert may not reply to your words but every word that you will speak will be heard.

4. Quality over Quantity:

An introvert person will always choose quality over quantity, that’s why introverts are very choosy about everything, you will see that introverts have fewer friends not because of the less social skills they have but because they know the worth of people in their life. And do anything to stay away from toxicity.

5. Great Observers:

Introverts are great observers unlike other people, they can see things that others are not able to see, they can see and observe the risks in everything while others can’t even see the clues.
